Bigger needles?

I started my ribby, smallest size, using #6 needles. Then I realized I'd better do a swatch before moving up to the larger needles (when it asks after those first 8 rows). Turns out I gauged for size 9 needles. Should I do my first 8 rows of rib over in size 8 needles, or will it not make a difference with just that little bit of rib??

I think that if it were me, and I got gauge with a #9, I would re-do the ribbing over with a #8. This is a relatively quick sweater to knit up, and I would rather do that small section over than be unhappy with it later. You can re-knit 8 rows in nothing flat!

I also went up one size on the needles. I did the body in a size 8 and the ribbing in a size 7. I'd suggest doing the first bit of ribbing in a size smaller...it's meant to be "tighter".

I agree with goodkarma that I'd frog it and do it with an 8. Sorry!
