I want to make my carddi a little longer. I am considering picking up the stitches at the bottom and knitting on a few more rows. I don’t know it would be best to sew the pieces together first or not. Any suggestions?
If you pick up stitches at the bottom of any piece, your new stitches will be about 1/2 a stitch "off". So it's generally recommended that you would rip back the ribbing part and knit down from there. You could either add more stockinette and then the prescribed ribbing, or just add a longer ribbing section.
