To the Frog Pond we go...

Hi everyone!

My first post, but unlike most, I'm showing a more de-constructive piece!

*Sigh*, I've had to rip out my back panel... it was too small. I never have luck with sweaters - I have yet to complete one. Anyone else out there experience size problems? As in, you get guage, but still manage to be either too large or too small?

Actually, yes! My sweater is finished (I'm hoping to take a photo to post either today or tomorrow) and it's smaller than I expected. It fits, but fits tightly... I still like it, but I'm not sure why it happened. I knit my gauge swatch carefully and had to use a size larger needles (size 8s instead of size 7s). I'm thinking maybe I should have just knitted a larger size...

You can do it! Just keep on trying. Remember that the ribbing stretches, so it may be bigger than you think. Do you block? Sometimes I can manage to get up to 2 inches extra on my sweaters by just blocking the *crap* out of it.

To really get the extra inches, I get the sweater wet, stretch it out to where I want it, pin it to a towel on my rug and let it sit that way until it's totally dry - this can take up to a week, but it's worth it.

thanx guys... yeah, even with stretching out the rib it will be a little tight; too form-fitting for a cardi! Will cast on tonite and start again :)
