Zipper Time..

Howdie : )

Just thought I'd check in with an update.

I've been following Bonne's zipper installing directions to the letter so far.. I have the zipper basted on the sweater and it looks... pretty ok. I don't know for sure if I did it exactly right because I can kinda see the zipper teeth when it's zipped up.. and she says you shouldn't be able to at all. But I might also be too fussy.

I've pretty much decided to try machine sewing it.. I am even more convinced now that I am a crappy hand sewer. I've also decided if I don't like how it turns out.. I'll rip it out again and take it to a seamstress. I wish I could be more confident about this whole thing.

Hopefully I'll have a finished product soon.

Where I'm at... and a question.

This is a picture from yesterday morning...

I had the back of Ribby finished to the 14" required, and all the other pieces finished through an entire skein of yarn each (which, coincidentally, is roughly the same length(I took the picture at an angle, so the back looks shorter and the sleeves look longer in comparison than they really are):

I compared the back to another shirt I have, and I decided to add an inch to the length after all. As of now, I've added that extra inch and done the armhole shaping and all the decreases, and I'm left with a question...

After the final decrease row... do you bind off purlwise on the very next row, or do you do a final WS row and then bind off knitwise?

Oh, and PS... my blog has moved to a new address.

Does This Look Stupid?

Howdie..

Well after being incredibly annoyed that my sleeves were a tiny inch too short.. I decided that before I go taking the entire thing apart and reknitting the sleeves.. I'd try picking up the stitches around the end of the sleeves and adding an inch to them that way.... But the question is.. does this look stupid? Don't be shy either.. I want honest (even tactless) opinions.

Click the pictures if you'd like to see a more close up shot of them..

Here it is on me..

Trying this thing on with just safetypins to close it looks pretty weird... I can't wait till I have my zipper..

This picture was a bit big to post.
