Ribby Cardi on Cotton Plus

There it goes! My Ribby Cardi. I'm almost done with the back. Boy, that ribbing is slowing me down, but I know my cardi is only going to be that much cuter for my efforts, so I'm not too stressed about it. I'm working on the arm decreases... hopefully the front and sleeves will come along much quicker. Now that I have some Strawberry Cream (Lion Brand) Cotton Ease in my stash, I'm thinking I might do another one in the future in Strawberry Cream and Sugar Plum *lavender*. We'll see.

ZipperStop.com Special Offer For Us.

Howdie : )

Well yesterday I got an interesting email from the guy who runs zipperstop.com. He apparently read an old post about how displeased someone was with a zipperstop order and he told me that our group can buy zippers for our Cardis with FREE shipping. (The shipping was holding a lot of us back from ordering through them, so this is a great deal.)

Here is the email he sent me:

Good evening

I was reading your blogs on your site.

We at zipperstop.com are not greedy. If you need zippers please call us at 888-947-7872.

If you mention your group, shipping is on me.

We normally charge about $2.95 for bubble envelope and $4.95 for priority mail.

Hope this helps.

Have a great nite!

Jeff

PS we are a YKK distributor and ship worldwide and do NOT have any complaints. Sorry if you were not happy. We will make you and your group happy!

In a follow-up email he said to ask for him (Jeff Fiebusch) when calling to order a zipper to get this free shipping deal. Mention that you're in the Ribby Cardi Knit-A-Long and say that Kim sent you.

I just wanted to let yall know about this so you can get the zipper you want.

Happy knitting (And zippering) : )

My Second Ribby (Planning Stages)

Howdie : )

Yes... It's true.. I'm making my second ribby.. Thanks to eBay I've already gotten my yarn and I'm in serious planning stages right now.. I'll probably cast on tonight or tomorrow morning..

I completed my swatch today and thankfully I'm still on gauge with the same yarn and needles that I used for my first ribby.

Rowan's All Seasons Cotton in Regal

Differences in store:
  • All one color
  • Mostly seamless (Sleeves done in round, body done in one piece)
  • Mock Turtleneck collar

  • So that's what I have planned so far... Hopefully it'll go as well (or better!) as my first : ) The only thing concerning me is that I'll get bored with knitting with the same color so much.. but it's such a gorgeous color.. so hopefully that won't happen.

    ribby knitter in cotton/acrylic yarn

    short introduction...

Hello all! This is Anna of Anna's Yarn Mansion just checking in after starting my own Ribby Cardi the other day. I don't have any pics of it as of yet, but the back portion of it is coming along nicely. I'm another one of those knitters that's allergic to wool, so I'm working on my Ribby with TLC Cotton Plus yarn. It's a 51% cotton, 49% acrylic yarn. I'm making it in a light pink and tan color. I hope to have pics up of it while it's in progress in the very near future, but I figured I'd introduce myself first. I've only been knitting for about 11 months now, and this is my first sweater, so I'm just a little apprehensive about it right now. I'll post pics as I make more progress. I'll be in touch soon! :-)

    FYI

Elann.com has just increased their inventory of Peruvian Collection Highland Wool. They have TONS of yummy colors! Amazing...I haven't even gotten halfway through my first Ribby and I'm already thinking about color combinations for the next one =)

    New Girl

I'm new to the Ribby Cardi Knitalong, and I just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Josephine and I live in Maryland. It took awhile to get started on this project, but I think that's largely because I was so anal about choosing the colors for the cardi; I finally settled on a light purple for the body and a darker purple for the sleeves. The cardi was officially started last week and I'm really liking what I've seen so far. I would have loved to have knit the fronts and back as one piece but I wasn't brave enough to stray too far from the pattern. I am considering working the sleeves in the round so as to avoid the whole seam issue. Anyone have any tips as to how I can proceed?

Feel free to check out my blog for photos and progress reports.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys.
