Progress at long last!

Here is my sweater so far. I can't wait to block it.

I am afraid it is going to be too big, though.
To those of you that have knitted this sweater before: is that area from the neck to the armhole too long?
It seems to me, that it's about 1.25" too long.
What sort of problems can I expect when I try to attach the sleeve? Am I going to have bat wings? yikes!
(The width is fine, however...)

Any thoughts of advice?
I've started the sleeves...

something has gone terribly wrong

I don't know if I'm confused or just up knitting too late, but I think that I have really messed this up. I lost count also on the right front and something is just not looking right. Please help.

Intro Post

Hello, all! I'm close to done my first Ribby Cardi, but I wanted to join this great knitalong nonetheless. In the last 5 minutes or so, I cast off on the sleeves, so all my 'pieces' so to speak, are done. Now all I have to worry about is finishing...which is always a challenge for me. I'm ready to wear it now!! :-P

I really liked the colors shown in the pattern, so I chose 2117 Celadon for the body (same as the pattern) and 0208 Malt Heather for the arms & collar (a touch lighter than the pattern). I have 3 full balls of the Celadon left over, and I'm hoping enough of the Malt Heather to finish the collar. After seeing some other Ribby's, I plan on doing the shawl collar.

I'll end with a question: If anyone else did the body in Celadon, what color/kind of zipper did you get? I'm terrified of ordering the wrong color. Thanks in advance, and happy knitting!

I need to be stopped.

I'm all set to go buy 8 balls of Patons Classic Merino to make the Mariah jacket from Knitty. I just bought 3 balls of Patons Divine to start a sweater, then realized for the sole size it was offered in (32 inch bust stretched over my 36) and the needles I'd have to use to get it to gauge would make it look even worse/more indecent when stretched. So, I'm set to have at least 11 balls of hope filling up the recently cleared out stash bin. And by cleaned out, I mean, I used one small ball to knit a scarf. It's progress!

It's just such a pretty sweater.....
